Dallas Habitat Goes Green

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity incorporates many environmentally friendly ‘green’ practices into the building of our homes and our operations – helping families and the environment.
Pre-building walls in our state of the art shop improves construction quality and minimizes material waste.		Dallas Habitat homes incorporate many energy saving features such as top quality insulated windows, reflective barrier roof decking, quality R-38 attic and R-13 wall insulation, and Energy Star rated appliances.		Our two Home Improvement Outlet Stores accept and resell donations of new and gently used appliances, windows, doors, cabinets and other building materials that would otherwise be lost in landfills.
Help Habitat and the Environment Now you can contribute to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity and help the environment by participating in our Cans for Habitat or Cars for Habitat programs, by supporting one of our Home Improvement Outlet Stores, or recycling your unwanted items on Ebay. Cans for Habitat Energize your entire company, community group or congregation with a win-win program of recycling used cans to build new homes for deserving Dallas families. The program is easy to start and maintain, and will have a positive impact on your organization. Recycling is fun, easy and rewarding – and together we can make a difference to our most precious assets: children, families and the environment. The process is fast and easy: 1) Take your cans to Texas Recycling/Surplus where they will be weighed and your donation recorded on a receipt 2) Take the receipt to the recycling office and designate your can donation to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.
