Planned Giving Opportunities

Legacy Builders Circle
Annual Giving Society

Members of the Legacy Builders Circle are specially vested partners of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity who share and support its vision.  As a Circle member, you are recognized for your commitment and serve as a leader for others who wish to make an investment in our community.

The impact of your multi-year gift is both immediate and enduring. Habitat homes quickly bring a sense of pride and new life to neglected communities; and over time these homeowner occupied neighborhoods strengthen the social and financial fabric of the larger community through lower crime rates, higher property values and a growing tax base.  Most significantly, these homes give low-income children and families a firm foundation for future success by providing greater stability and the means to build personal wealth.

Planned Giving

Family photoFor over 20 years, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity has been building homes in partnership with deserving families and transforming Dallas communities.  Dallas Habitat is committed to providing families with safe, decent homes and the City of Dallas with neighborhoods which contribute to the social and economic fabric of the community.

This year we will celebrate the completion of our 700th home and continue the work of strengthening Dallas one family and one neighborhood at a time.  Habitat homes provide children and families the stability they need to thrive and the means to create multigenerational wealth; and provide the city with homeowner occupied neighborhoods with lower crime, better schools,  and tax income for improved city services.  Your support is needed to continue this important work.

Giving Made Easier: New Law Encourages Increased Donations

Under a new law, commonly referred to as H.R. 4, each person over the age of 70½ with an IRA (Traditional or Roth) can make contributions to charities directly from his or her IRA up to a total of $100,000 per year without incurring income tax.

This contribution will also count against your minimum required distribution amount for the year.  A Qualified Charitable Distribution does not result in income to the donor and does not count against your Adjusted Gross Income limitation.  Therefore you deduct the contribution regardless of whether you have maximized your charitable giving for the year.

As a 501 (c)(3) organization, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity in an eligible recipient of these gifts.

Won’t you consider making a life-changing difference for a family in need with a gift from your IRA?  For more information on making a donation, please call Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity at (214) 678-2300.

Not only is this an opportunity for home ownership, it is the opportunity to leave something to my children and leave a lasting, empowering impression of their mother.

I would like to give a sincere thank you to Habitat, for being part of a venture that is so much greater than us. I realize that people come and go in our lives, and sometimes we're so caught up in our own lives that it's really hard to see anyone else. I am overjoyed that you looked up and saw Scyesha, Dyamon and me.
