Our Neighborhoods

Dallas Habitat’s targeted building efforts serve as a catalyst to improve the neighborhoods where we build. Often one of the first organizations to enter and revitalize these distressed areas,  Habitat builds its homes in clusters by targeting small areas that have a large number of vacant lots (usually 25-30) with the understanding that one new home will not turn around a neglected area, but a group homes can serve as a catalyst for neighborhood revitalization.

Dallas Area Habitat purchases in-fill and newly developed land on the open market, acquires vacant land that has been abandoned by tax-delinquent property owners, and partners with community organizations that do not have the capacity to build on property that they own.  DAHfH also works closely with the City of Dallas Housing Department, community organizations and area leaders to ensure that Habitat’s activities will complement the existing revitalization efforts and strategic plans.

Our goal is to eliminate substandard housing and improve the quality of life for deserving families in Dallas County.

Listed below are areas where we have built homes for our families.
